Why do Tourists Love Torremolinos?

There are more whales in the Mediterranean as many people know. Whales are sometimes spotted in the Torremolinos region as well as Denia in Alicante and you can also join a boat tour to see them. It is estimated that about 100 whales swim from the Atlantic into the Mediterranean every year estimated. During our last sailing trip from Menorca to Toulon in France, we saw a large fin of a whale right next to our boat, an enormous experience, common the are seen between France and Italy.

Torremolinos is a wonderful place to spend your summer vacation thanks to its beautiful beaches, rich history, and abundance of greenery. The resort area has a lot more to offer than just a warm Mediterranean coast; there are plenty of things to do there for the whole family, and the nightlife is fantastic for the young people who visit. To help you make the most of your time when buying Apartments for sale in Torremolinos, we’ve compiled a list of the top attractions in the city.

The Stunning Old Town

Explore the thriving Torremolinos Old Town, which extends back from the beachfront promenade. Walk along the pedestrianized Calle San Miguel in the town’s historic core from the area known as Paseo Maritimo del Bajondillo. It is surrounded by a wide variety of businesses, from restaurants and bars to boutiques selling everything from jewellery and clothing to souvenirs and gourmet foods.

Casa de Los Navajas

In the 1920s and 1930s, interest in the Moorish style of medieval Spain, of which Casa de Los Navajas is a prime example, experienced a renaissance. It was constructed in 1925 by a wealthy family to serve as their vacation home, and by 1991 it had been designated as a building of historic interest due to its location directly above Playamar Beach.

The mansion, which features mosaics on its facade and furniture from the Art Deco and Spanish Renaissance periods, is currently hosting a photography exhibit honouring the history of the city. Because of its stunning design, Casa de Los Navajas plays host to a wide variety of ceremonies and celebrations all year long.

Playa de La Carihuela

Playa de la Carihuela, the largest beach in Torremolinos, is a great place for families to spend the summer. The calm, shallow waters are ideal for swimming, and the local, dark sand is great for volleyball and other beach sports. Throughout the summer, you can rent daybeds and umbrellas to make the most of your day outdoors.

La Carihuela District

Located just blocks from the beachfront promenade, this charming neighbourhood is known for its quiet grid-like streets lined with low-rise houses decorated with colourful bougainvillaea. A few scattered relics of the fishing village dot La Carihuela’s many nooks and crannies, reminding residents and visitors alike of the city’s maritime past.
